The 29th Annual My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge is a day-long festival featuring the #1 condiment in the U.S. – Salsa! This culinary competition featuring over one hundred freshly made salsas will occur on Saturday, April 27 at Tempe Beach Park. Gates open at 11am and professional “chefs” will compete for the judge’s vote while attendees enjoy all the chips and salsa they desire!
The 29th Annual My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge proudly features restaurants, businesses and individuals competing to make the best tasting salsa in their category. Attendees can expect to taste a variety of over a hundred different kinds of salsa, each prepared on-site and made with fresh ingredients; hot and mild! Plus, over 3000 pounds of yummy tortilla chips will be served in one day! One needs a good sturdy chip to scoop up such delectable delights!
The grand champion will win a $1,000 cash prize and attendees can vote for their favorite with dollars through the People’s Choice Award.
A separate competition within the event is the Margarita Mix-Off, which takes place from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Bartenders show off their talents to win the judge’s vote for best Margarita.
Kids can also enjoy a day of fun at the event’s FUNZONE, featuring interactive games for the entire family including multiple bounce houses, a bungee run, and laser tag.
More than 20,000 people are expected to come and taste more than 100 homemade salsas, listen to live music, enjoy margaritas, cold beers, and vote for their favorite salsa chef.
The 29th Annual My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge tickets are only $15 at the gate and children under the age of 12 are admitted FREE! (Must be accompanied by adult.)
